About our Africa

Strategic choices for transformation

Africa’s current developmental matters are anchored on the implementation of two key initiatives, Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 Agenda. Achieving the aspirations of Agenda 2063 and the SDGs hinges almost entirely on our ability as a continent and by extension, the African Union Commission’s (AUC) ability to mobilise financial resources within, as opposed to externally. For instance, to implement the SDGs, it is estimated that Africa needs between $614 billion per year. The African Union also needs to disincentives emigration of its productive labour force, create jobs for its bulging youth population, encourage innovation and transform the productive sector of the continent to meet the development needs of the continent.
